Boys and parents,
If you recall, we packaged up a box and sent to Mark Wilson in Iraq at our last meeting. After some technical difficulties (I had the wrong custom forms  2x ) it finally arrived !!! Below is Mark's message:

Pete and Chris and everyone else.

Thank you for the package.  It arrived about a week or so ago but I did not have a way to send any e mail.  I went to the mail room and was truly stunned by the size of the package.  When I opened it all I could do was laugh as I knew the care and fun with which the package was put together.  Thank you for caring and for remembering.  I can assure you the coffee will be used and has, in fact, already been opened up.  We drink a lot of coffee and tea in this place, even though it is hot as blazes outside.  This Saturday and Sunday we are supposed to get to the highest temp so far.  Both days it is supposed to hit 122 degrees.  We have hit 118 before and it may be dry, but it is still hot.  You do get used to it such that when the temp is 85 or 90 we think it is really nice and comfortable!

Enjoy the summer.  I believe I heard the High Adventure is Isle Royale?  Is that right?  How many boys are going on the trip?  How many days and how many miles are planned?  Also, can you tell me the route so if I have some time I can go online and try to see where you are going—and then dream of greenery and cool lakes.

There is absolutely nothing green here.  It is brown everywhere.  Water is in short supply.  We drink bottled water all the time and there is plenty of that.  In the latrine trailers we take Navy showers and they are supposed to be short so as to conserve water.  I will take a very long, and uninterrupted shower when I get home.

Thanks to both of you for caring and remembering.  That is what means the most to all of us out here.

Mark
